The reviews speak volumes about the experience at El Matador. Cheri Land shares that while celebrating her birthday, the tamales and rice were a hit, thanks to the friendly staff who provided helpful suggestions. One of the standout highlights is undoubtedly the wet burrito, drenched in rich red enchilada sauce, as noted by Johana A., showcasing the balance of flavors that El Matador excels at. “ I ordered tamales and rice for my bday party recently. They were both excellent!! Everyone was very helpful in making suggestions such as getting the tamale sauces and getting the oven safe containers. We kept them in the oven on low and then served them from a hot plate. They stayed moist and warm. Thank you all for making my party a success!! ”
“ This is five stars for a little Mom and Pop neighborhood place with delicious food. Cant really ask for more. The proprietors replaced the old Mijares East, and the place is about the same. This was my first visit. I had the mole enchilada with extra rice, skipping the frijoles. The mole was sensational but the enchilada was a little brief. Next time, Ill have two enchiladas. They were different from what I was used to, some cooked vegetables inside I think I saw tomato and green pepper, but not too much. Yes, there will be a next time, and a next, and a next. Friendly service. Substantial takeout clientele but plenty of tables to eat, inside and out. I always suggest paying cash in these little places so that the banks dont get their 6 juice they do more than wet their big beaks!. ”
“ It is AUTHENTIC Mexican Food for sure, very good indeed! ”
“ I ordered 2 chicken enchiladas rancheras, 1 apastor wet burrito, and 1 carne asadabeans gordita through Uber eats and it was one of the best Mexican foods I have tried. The wet burrito is drenched in red enchilada sauce making it taste very good and the enchiladas came with guacamole, crema, and red sauce. I definitely will be eating here more often. The only thing is that the gordita was a bit burnt but it still tasted good. ”
“ Great food portions service!! We had the catfish and beef tongue plate. Both were delicious!! Catfish was cooked perfectly and crispy on the outside. Beef tongue was tender. Portions were large. ”
“ It was my first mexican food experience in the US and I have to say its not comparable with any of the so called mexican restaurants that I visited in Austria, Germany and Spain. The staff were super friendly and careful. ”
“ Place is clean and staff are nice. Food is good . So my Family ordered chicken mole, flautas, Carne asada tacos, Shrimp with red sauce and cow tongue with green sauce and everything was delicious. They also brought out a Habanero green hot sauce which was good. But not spicy for my taste buds.As you know I like spice! So let me just review the food now the Chicken mole was really good , Although it did kind of taste like donya marias mole I would recommend it for those who dont like Mole thats too strong. The floutas were good.I ordered chicken and it was really tasty. It was juicy and the flavor was there.I love the crunchy flour tortilla. The tacos were good.It was beef and they come with green sauce and red sauce. Both were good, very flavorful.Typical taco meal love it! So The shrimps and red sauce Is supposed to be hot, but Im immune to hot sauces. This was really good.Has a good kick and its delicious. The shrimps are big and it feels you up.I would order this again. And last But not least the Cow tongue in green sauce. That one is my favorite , I actually ordered this couple of times that Ive been here. This one is Best it comes with Tomatillo green sauce and onion. Now all of the dishes come with rice and beans. And those are really good too.I highly recommend this place ten outta ten ”
“ Waiting for a bus, decided to give it a try. Just needed a snack so I got a plain carne asada taco. It was so tender, delicious, and came out hot. Plus they added chips which was nice. Staff very friendly and bathroom very clean ”
